Once a country like Russia recognizes itself as a nation-civilization, it becomes impossible for the West to isolate it, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told Sputnik Africa on Wednesday.

"A country, a people and a state that honors its history, knows it and passes it on to future generations cannot be isolated," Zakharova stated. "They can isolate themselves from us, in some groups, but it is impossible to isolate us."

On the sidelines of the 25th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2023), which is being held from June 14 to 17, Zakharova noted that, according to the organizers of the forum, at least 130 countries and territories from around the world are participating in the event.

"Is it possible in this case to talk about the isolation of Russia, which is constantly talked about in the West?" she asked.

Debates and discussions about isolating Russia have been going on for longer than they deserve, but it's time to come to a conclusion and formulate it in a way that leaves no room for further questions or arguments, she said.
"There will be attempts of isolation. Can Russia be isolated? - No, this has already been proven. And just stop asking each other these questions."
