Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is holding a press conference in Maputo, the capital of Mozambique.
While visiting Mozambique, the minister is expected to have a number of meetings with the country's leadership. He is also likely to discuss Mozambique's participation in the Russia-Africa summit in July this year as President Filipe Nyusi plans to personally attend this event.
Lavrov has already visited the republic twice before - in February 2013 and March 2018. The last official talks between the Foreign Ministers of the Russian Federation and Mozambique took place five years ago, in May 2018 in Moscow. This is the fourth visit the top Russian diplomat has made to the African continent in the past year.
