Russia is ready to help resolve the crisis in Sudan and, if necessary, provide a platform for negotiations, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said.
Commenting on the readiness of Russia to provide a platform for negotiations between the parties to the conflict in Sudan, the diplomat noted:
"If it is necessary, we are always ready. We don't impose ourselves on anyone. It's another matter what kind of negotiations we can talk about, because there are different approaches among the Sudanese," the diplomat stated.
Bogdanov also noted that Russia is against foreign interference in Sudanese affairs.

According to the latest data provided by the World Health Organization, 676 people were killed and 5,576 injured during the clashes. The situation in the country is not improving, despite the negotiations of the delegations of the parties in the Saudi city of Jeddah. Earlier, a representative of the Saudi Foreign Ministry said that negotiations are being conducted through intermediaries, their goal is to achieve a stable short-term truce.

At the same time, local media reported on May 12, citing sources, that the Sudan Armed Forces and the RSF signed an agreement for the first time, in which they pledged to do everything possible to avoid harm to civilians. The signed agreement was the first between the army and the RSF since the beginning of the conflict on April 15.
According to the points of the agreement, the parties undertake to refrain from any attacks that may harm the civilian population, as well as to take all precautions not to harm the civilian population, to allow all civilians in Sudan to leave the areas of hostilities and besieged areas, to protect medical workers and public institutions in Sudan.
