Third Russia-Africa Summit is Planned for 2026, Lavrov Says
The Russian foreign minister said he discussed the upcoming summit with his Namibian counterpart Selma Ashipala-Musavyi during their talks in Moscow.
The Russia-Africa Partnership Forum—a dialogue platform established in 2019—has previously hosted two summits: in Russia’s Sochi in 2019 and in St. Petersburg in 2023, as well as its first ministerial conference in November 2024.
The second ministerial meeting—held in Cairo in December 2025, marking the first time the event took place on African soil—was the most recent high-level gathering of the partnership forum, convening foreign ministry representatives from 52 African countries.
The Cairo meeting ended with a joint statement affirming shared views on global issues and a commitment to deepen cooperation ahead of the 2026 Russia–Africa Summit.
